Do you sell thermal binding covers greater than 15mm?
It is not advisable to bind documents of more than 150 pages (15mm cover) using a thermal binder, as the weight of paper drastically reduces the life of the bind. For this reason, 15mm is the largest thermal binding cover we sell and would strongly recommend comb binding for any more than 150 pages. We sell a Peach Thermal Binder that can theoretically accommodate a 30mm cover, but the purpose of the wide opening is to allow simultaneous binding of multiple documents, eg you could easily bind 3 x 8mm documents at the same time. We strongly recommend comb binding for this size of document and sell a comb binder that will bind up to 450 pages – please see: Peach Star BinderTop of the Page
Do you sell A5 Thermal Binding Covers?
Sorry, all our covers are A4, but we sell A6 covers for binding photo albums that can also be used to bind paper.Top of the Page
How many sheets of different size paper will the Peach Personal Wire Binder punch and close?
Wire Binder will punch up to 6 sheets of 80gsm paper, so 480gsm total in theory, but probably 400 gsm in practice, so this will be the limit of the covers you could punch. A 6mm wire will bind up to 40, 80gsm sheets, so 3200gsm total. This means you could, for example, have two 400gsm covers with 30 pages of 80gsm paper or 20 pages of 120gsm paper, etc. A 6mm wire is the largest size this binder will work with on its own, but the range can be extended to 14mm (120 pages) with the Peach Personal Wire Closer.Top of the Page
Can I use 4mm wires to make calendars?
4mm wires bind up to 20 pages of 80gsm paper, which is perfectly adequate for small documents. For calendars, you will probably use at least 120gsm paper, so a 4mm wire will only bind 13 sheets, putting you at the limit of the wire’s capacity. The pages may be difficult to turn – especially if you use a hanger. We strongly recommend a 6mm wire, as this will give you the maximum flexibility and allow you to have a stiff backing card to protect the calendar during postage.Top of the Page
Can you give me more details on the Peach Star Binder and can I buy extra supplies from you?
The Star Binder binds up to 450 pages of 80gsm paper and punches 12 pages at a time. The starter pack, included with the binder, comprises 25 assorted plastic combs from 8mm to 16mm and 25 clear front covers plus 25 matt white back covers. (Please note: this machine uses plastic combs, not wires, to bind! We also sell a wire binding machine, separately and as a package.) We sell mixed packs of binding combs in large sizes (50 combs at £8.95) and small sizes (50 combs at £3.95 or 60 combs at £4.25. We can also supply packs of front and high-quality leathergrain back covers (in black, white, blue, green, red, grey and ivory). We can send any amount of combs and covers along with the binder by next-day courier for only £9.95.Top of the Page
Can I use the Star Binder to make calendars?
This machine uses plastic combs, which are not really suitable for calendars as they don't allow the pages to fold back on themselves. We sell the world's lowest-cost Wire Binder which is ideal for calendars.Top of the Page
Can I use plastic combs with a Wire Binder or metal wires with a Comb Binder?
Plastic combs will not work with a Wire Binder and vice versa for wires. Combs have 21 loops along the length of an A4 sheet and wires have 34 loops. Also, the size and shapes of the holes required are very different. Combs are placed in the binder, opened and the document pages placed on the comb, which is then allowed to close to bind the document. Wires are fitted on the punched document then pressed shut in the closer.Top of the Page
Do you sell Combs or Wires in sizes smaller than A4?
Almost all binding supplies come in A4, but combs can easily be cut to any size with a pair of scissors and wires can be cut to any length with wire cutters. If you don’t have wire cutters, please ask and we can supply them.Top of the Page
